Teaching Open Source

During the summer of 2009 I took part in the inaugural Professor's Open Source Summer Experience at Red Hat. Since then, I have been interacting with and contributing to the work of a group of educators who are working to bring open source more fully into their curricula.

In my own classrooms, I have integrated the elements of the practices of open communities into offerings of FS101: Creativity and Leadership, FS102: Technology and Activism, FS102: Making the Future, CMPSC 112: Data Structures, CMPSC 220: Programming Languages, and CMPSC 303: Human Centered Design.
